This is a high level mucomancer. Mucomancers are skilled members of the phlegmegnos species that are adept at manipulating the copious amounts of mucus that are produced by their own bodies as well as that produced of other creatures. A mucomancer can cause the mucus in somebody's digestive or respiratory tract to rush up and gag them to death, and a mucomancer can also create "elemental" mucus out of thin air...the amount of it depends on the skill of the mucomancer. Mucomancers can also use their ability to change the consistency of mucus...like wrapping enemies in thick, sticky strands of it, or engulfing them in a tidal wave of slippery mucus with a wave of their staffs. Mucomancers are not to be trifled with.

Phlegmegnos live in swampy, brackish water environments where they build shelters out of mucus that they magically harden with the aid of mucomancers. It has been theorized that phlegmegnos evolutionary ancestors originally evolved the ability to constantly produce mucus as a means of evading predation, as their mucus coating on their skin makes them almost impossible to gain a firm grip on their slippery bodies. This is a passive defense much like the hagfish.
