So, I have decided to try starting a fundraiser to gather enough funds in order to get Transcendence developed. The story is basically finished and has been for years, just that I do not know anything about programming other than Javascript here and there and I do not want to give up on the Transcendences project. As I cannot afford to hire a development team at the moment, I have decided to launch a Gofundme campaign to try and gather enough donations to get the game off of the ground.
It is a small donation goal for now, as I am just testing the waters, but I hope that I can turn this into reality. If anybody has any questions or ideas, feel free to mention them below, and while I have set up a Discord server for it already, a Facebook page will be on its way soon as well.

I have moved this to a submission in its own right within my gallery. I thought it deserved it.
So, I am sure that a lot of people out there, including myself have a lot of games series that they would like to see further installments of but have just been shelved for whatever reason. I am thinking about making a regular journal series about ideas I have for future titles in games that have long since ended. To start with, let us take a look at the Overlord series by Triumph Studios.
Overlord is an interesting game that is a cross between a strategy game an a third person combat game. You play as an armored Sauron-inspired evil knight who commands an army of minions to attack enemies and interact with objects while you can attack enemies directly with your weapon and spells in addition to casting support spells. The point of the game is to use your minions to become ruler of a saccharine Tolkienesque fantasy world filled with oafish peasants, bizarre monsters, alchoholic dwarfs and obnoxious elves. Overlord II is much the same way. Both games have four subspecies of minion to choose from, red (throw fire), green (sneak attack), blue (can swim, and can resurrect fallen minions), brown (fighters). You also have an older more intelligent minion by the name of Gnarl that serves as your narrator and advisor in every minion game for expositionary purposes.
Unfortunately, there has not been a third Overlord game, and it has been quite awhile since the previous titles came out. So, for the hell of it, I decided to run with an idea that I had earlier...
Overlord III
Gnarl: "This is a disappointing turn of events indeed. Our tower is crumbling into pieces, our numbers are dwindling, and now a new religious cult has risen to power in the absence of the empire and is turning the land into a loathsome place built on foundations of holy morals and feel-good nonsense. We must do something soon, but evil always finds a way..."
*Gnarl wanders down to a room down in the lower levels of the Overlord tower, where a large, dusty bench holds various glassware and laboratory equipment used in magical research*
Gnarl: "There is some old equipment left over from the days of the first Overlord, perhaps it will have some value." *Gnarl pauses for a moment as if in thought*
Gnarl: "Giblet, I have an idea! Heat up the forge! If we do not have an Overlord on hand, we will have to make one ourselves!"
The game starts, you choose what subtype of minion your Overlord is: Green (Bonus to speed and attack) Blue (Starts with a cheap minion resurrect spell)
Red (Starts with a powerful but very cheap fire attack) Brown (Bonus to defense and health, has a tail unlike normal brown minions)
An opening sequence starts where you see a minion rise from some sort of large, liquid-filled, glass tank. The camera focuses on the minion from behind so you do not see his face. The minion is larger and much more heavily muscled than usual usual and he will be a green, blue, red, or brown depending on what minion type you chose.
Gnarl: "Yes! After many long years, it finally worked!
A sequence starts where you see various minions equipping the new minion with evil-looking plate armor and a sword
Gnarl: "We have created our own Minion Lord!"
The game starts, showing the minion/Overlord in the main hall of the tower. He is a third taller than the other minions.
Gnarl: "Master, you are the first of a special breed of minion. Let's face it, most of them are notoriously stupid and relatively weak individually. But you, on the other-hand, are much more intelligent and stronger than any minion has ever been. We are not sure what to expect from you in terms of overlording, but the future looks bright and EVIL indeed! Let us go to the courtyard to see what you can do."
The game goes to a field next to the ruins of the tower...
Gnarl: "Do you see that pillar over there? Order your minions to pick it up and transport it to the tower. Each health pillar will increase your health bar...and..."
The Overlord grows slightly taller and larger
Gnarl: "Master, that was unexpected! It seems that each health pillar you collect also increases your size. An Overlord should be as physically imposing as he is evil! We will see how big you will eventually get if you collect all of these pillars!"
So that was my proposed idea for a third Overlord game. Some spinoffs have had "elite minions" but how about an Overlord "alpha minion"? I would like to see what a giant minion would look like in Overlord armor.
